Wanting:

A Collection of stories from around the world of people who wanted and created more for themselves.

Vol I

Overview

Hi I’m Bhupesh Gulati but most just know me as Bhu. Usually i would dive into a little autobiography but I think to stay true to what this book is about I will share a short story.

Sometimes life happens and you go on a journey and during such a journey i have had the pleasure of meeting many interesting individuals all trying to create more for themselves.

Through this conversations and meeting people form all walks of life. From those who have family’s and those who do not. Some starting over anew and others learning to see the great life they already have. From over coming false accusations to and betrayal to a loss of a loved one.

Sometimes things happen and life comes to a halt. Things that cause conflict with the identity that you have created. Some not realizing they may not have an identity outside of the vocation they took on.

What I realized through conversation and discussions some with laughter and some with out is that if you were to look at all of us it wouldn’t make sense what he have in common. Yet there was a common thread.

Its ok to want better but you have to work for it and the one thing i have got to experience and even assist with and help with suggestions is that there is not a lack of effort with any of these individuals.

This book is a collaboration where i get to platform them and in the process create something that will connect us. This version of me is happy to be connected to this version of them and the many integrations that will come as life unfolds.

Idea

I wanted to pursue a creative endeavor and involve some of the people I have met along the way navigating my own PTSD.

Who is this book for?

Life tends to happen weather you want it to or not. Through the shared writings of this eclectic group I hope that you can see we have more in common and you are not so alone.

What I did

I asked, and to my surprise these individuals have allowed me to create something that platforms them.

I couldn’t be more grateful

If i'm going to do this I need to add some pagentry to this. This needs to feel like an event. An acumilaton of all the progress these individuals have made and making.

As the initial spark came to me about doing something creative. At its root it was a way to navigate this blend of new and old that is my identity now in what I like to call the tail end of my PTSD.

The one thing that didn’t bring me any excitement was to do yet another thing in isolation as have always loved interacting with people form all walks of life.

This was just the start of this idea. I initially reached out to my friend Josh Gill who is also contributing to this endeavor.  I told him my half thought out idea and he was telling me to go all in before i even finished and this reaffirmed this feeling that felt like it was compelling me to peruse this half coked idea.

The words started as an ask and evolved to a letter then formed its dual identity of an invite and the forward of the book. Doing everything in the open seemed to be a requirement personally.

I’m happy I followed this feeling.

Hell I’m teaching myself to make this site out int he open as well. You don’t need to be perfect to start.

The gift of allowing me to ask you to share some of your words with me and everyone else.

As I was writing the invite I had this nagging feeling that this wasn’t enough. Weather one says yes or no I picked these people initially because I wanted them to be the first people I asked.

As such I wanted them to have something that they could have forever and I sourced these journals with a leather cover that was removable to be used over and over. again.

Who I used to achieve this mattered to me. Thought the wide diverse people I have met along this journey that is life there was Alex Hendricks who went all in on a printing business and it had to be him.

I got him to etch my favorite quite on the front leather clasp and this domain name and a number so they knew there is a finite amount.

I didn’t even have any idea what I would do with this domain name but now I had a reason to dive in.

Below you will see the authors that are essentially the soul of these collection of words. I hope you take the time to get to know them by reading a bit about them here.
